Heidi

‘I have engaged in many types of sports and for a long time my main sports were team gymnastics and ballet. I started cheerleading in 2014 and got into it straight away. In 2016, I transferred to the Renegades (currently Predators) with coed representation.  I trained in the Renegades until the end of last year, which is when I stopped goal-oriented training. I started as a cheerleading coach in TSC in 2015. With club teams, I have coached mainly juniors, but since 2019 I have also been coaching at Spine Performance camps all over Finland. Therefore, I have coaching experience with all age groups and levels.

As a coach, I act consistently and like to challenge myself, while also treating athletes with empathy and as individuals. I also encourage participation and place importance on hearing the athletes’ views. Teaching is an important element in my coaching and, indeed, I will graduate next year with a master’s degree in education. My area of expertise is flyers’ technical skills and coed techniques. At my camps, I aim to give coaches new perspectives on coaching, strengthen team cohesion, while focusing on getting a strong command of basic technique.’
